Bending Rebar

The first time I watched a rebar bend, my mind instantly yelled, "WE ARE NOT DOING THAT!!!"

And everything in my body said, "Oh yes honey, yes we are."

This is the beauty of these practices. We discover that our fears and the stories of our minds are not actually impenetrable barriers that stop us. It's in fact energy that we can use to move us forward.

When I stepped into the circle for my turn with the rebar, my whole body was trembling, my palms were sweaty, and I was so 'turned up' that I don't think I could even hear, ha!

Yet, I stayed with myself, with my body, connected to my breath, and I took the steps that were needed.

And I bent that rebar like the badass warrior goddess that I am. Not even the first time though. It took two tries. We had to re-centre after the first attempt and adjust our approach, and the second attempt brought success.

It felt miraculous, unbelievable, joyful. I stood there, almost in a field of disbelief, but also fully in belief because "I just effen did that!!!"

And if I did that, what else can I do?? As that question rises, the field of potential expands beyond perceived limits.

How amazing is that?!?!

There's no feeling quite like making the impossible possible.
